Is Traffic Geyser Worth The Money? Review

Written by on January 29th, 2010 in Video Marketing.

Video is the next big thing on Google. And every man and his dog has been scrambling to create products to take advantage of this. Enter Mike Koenigs and Traffic Geyser.

How It Works

At a basic level, Traffic Geyser is a video submission service. You do have some other options, such as a paid transcription service, video hosting and some others, but the reason that you go to Traffic Geyser is for the video submission feature.

First you create a video, and then you upload it to Traffic Geyser, which will then automatically upload your video to over 50 social media sites around the net, saving you a stack of time.

In order to get access to all 50 social media sites, you’ll need to have the gold membership, which comes to you with the fairly hefty price-tag of $97 per month. This will give you 3500 credits that you use to submit your videos.

So What’s Good About Traffic Geyser?

Traffic Geyser actually gets the job done. That is, it will submit your video to all of the Social Media sites just like it says it does. The sites that you will be submitting to can also give you some good backlinks, but there are plenty of PR1 sites out there to, so don’t expect all of your links to be juicy. You will improve your video views though, and have a chance of seeing your video go viral.

The Bad:

You have to manually set up all of the social media site accounts yourself. This can take up a LOT of time (to get them all done took me about a day) and so eventually i grabbed Imacro on firefox and automated a lot of this. Traffic Geyser does offer to sign up to all of the accounts for you, but at a cost of a further $97.

You really need to have 4 profiles for Traffic Geyser to be effective, and so you’re looking at 32 to set them up yourself (or a four day workweek) or you have to pay Traffic Geyser just under $400 to get them to do it for you.

Google does love videos, but more, it loves NEW videos, which means that your video listing can get dropped fairly quickly, especially in competitive markets.

Who’s it for?:

Traffic Geyser is an excellent tool for automating the submission of your videos to social media sites, and also to get some backlinks to your site.

If you’re looking to dominate your local market, then Traffic Geyser is excellent, as there is little competition (yet) for video in that demographic.

Is Traffic Geyser Good Value For Money?

Traffic Geyser is not a budget service. It costs $97 per month, which i consider a little bit excessive. However if you’re creating and distributing 10+ videos per month, then it’s not too bad (working out at about $0.20 per submission)

My Overall Feeling About Traffic Geyser:

At $97 per month Traffic Geyser is too expensive. But, I can’t really find anyone who can do exactly what Traffic Geyser does, so I stick with them, and will continue to until something better comes along. The main alternative is TubeMogul, which is free, but in my opinion, doesn’t get the job done as well.

Final Rating For Traffic Geyser:

Useability: 3 out of 5 (I’m not thrilled about the website, and the user interface isn’t very intuitive)

Usefulness: 4 from a possible 5. Traffic Geyser does exactly what it says it will do.

Value for Money: TG gets a 3 from 5 for this. They shouldn’t be charging $97 for this service, but while there are very few competitors they can! That said, very cost effective for local marketers.

Overall Traffic Geyser gets a 3 out of 5 starts. Could have been a lot higher but the $97 price tag brought it down.

Other similar services:

You could try TubeMogul (FREE) or TrafficBuzz ($37 per month)
